Back to SGX

As apparent by my last few entries, I’ve decide to switch back to the SGX routine this week…

Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE CrossFit and I think it is great for being fit. However, right now I am NOT happy with my weight (or waist) at this time and I am having really tough time getting into a routine with CrossFit which mean I have yet to get my eating under control.

At least with SGX I know that it is a routine that I can follow and does get results for me. My plan is to continue the SGX routine for at least the next month and then decide what I want to do after that… I may continue to some CrossFit workouts on the weekends, but for now I am not going to do the classes on a regular basis.

Just an interesting way somebody mapped out this workout, mine doesn’t look quite so impressive…

Not to bad for not lifing heavy in a while… last time we did deads for weight it was 3 reps and I got to 295 (failed at 305). The last set was as much as my grip could handle, as my fingers where litterally uncurling as I was lifting the weight and I barely made it up before dropping the bar… but I DID IT… above 300! Woo Hoo!

Rx: 30 muscle-ups
Sub: 120 pull-ups + 120 ring dips

Me: 71 red band pull-ups + 71 blue band ring dips … 50:19

(+ exploding blister, which took a good a bit of time to deal with
before I moved over to the dips)

(Follow-up)
I started out good and form was good. But once I got to 125, my wrist gave out and rolled… I was done after that. I tried 120 after a little break, but as soon as I put the bar up I knew it wasn’t gonna happen and I didn’t even get 1 rep :-( Next time I think I’ll need dig out by gloves which have wrist support.
