WOD:
Push Press your body weight 30 times for time.

then max rounds in 10 Minutes:

  • 5 Hang Power Snatch @ 115#’s
  • 10 Push Ups with a release at the bottom

RESULTS:
2:27 @ 115#
9 rounds @ 95#

So ya… nobody did body weight that I know of. There was no way I was gonna push press 190 some pounds. 195# is my max push jerk. I probably could have gone a little heavier, but it would have taken me quite a bit longer. Anyone that tried to start closer to body weight very quickly started stripping weights off to finish.

For the metcon, my main issue was gripping the bar. Between sweating and my suck ass grip, I almost jumped the bar out of my hands a few times on the last 1-2 snatches in a round. I did the snatches unbroken until the last two rounds when I just couldn’t hold the bar beyond 3 reps. But I think I did good.

WOD:
As many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:

  • 5 Pull Ups
  • 7 Push Up’s
  • 10 Box Jump’s

Every other minute sprint 200 meter’s.

RESULTS: (@ CFMV)
11 rounds

I don’t know what it was, but something hit me really hard during this workout and I was done afterwards. I sat in the parking lot drinking water and my protein shake for a good 15min or so I think. We did finish up with an all out sprint after the 20min as well.

Here’s a pic from the site of me hit the box jumps (which I actually was able to crank out pretty well, except when right after the run):

Box Jumps

Box Jumps

WOD:
Practice the Hand Stand Push Up

4 rounds of:

  • Perform as many Power Clean and Jerk’s at 135#’s as possible 1 minute
  • Rest 30 second’s
  • Perform as many Push Up’s as you can in 1 minute
  • Rest 30 second’s

RESULTS: (@ CFMV)
4/27, 1/21, 2/19, 1, 23 = 8/90 = 98

I averaged about 6 cleans per round, not so many jerks. Still have issues with the front rack, especially when it comes to having to come out of it for the jerk.

WOD:
Snatch Work, then…

10 Rounds for time of:

  • 15 Deadlifts 135#’s
  • 15 Push Ups

RESULTS:
17:45 (5 on knees)

It looks so simple… 15 and 15 isn’t that bad… its the 10 that sucks! During the push-ups on round 4 I said to myself “Is this really only round 4?” Ya, this was a rough one. I managed to squeeze out 5 round of regular push-ups, but had to switch to the knees after that since I was only getting 3 at a time.

OLY CLASS:

More snatch work! We worked the following complex…

  • Power Snatch
  • into Snatch Balance
  • into Overhead Squat

This was great for me, since catching in the bottom position (the snatch balance) is one of my week points. We started light and worked up to 115#.

After the complex I decided to try just doing a little heavier power snatch… just went up to 135#.

Team WOD:

  • Row
  • Push-ups
  • Knees-2-elbows
  • Double-unders

1 team member at each station, rotate every minute until as a team you complete 2k of rowing.

RESULTS:

CHAOS!!! for at least the first few rounds, nobody could seem to keep the rotation in order ;-)

As for our time… no idea as our rower kept resetting. But it was nice workout to come back to after a few days off.  And I got use my new jump rope some more.

WOD:

  • 35 Box Jumps 24″
  • 25 Push Ups
  • 15 Knees to Elbows
  • 5 Deadlift’s @ 275

Perform the above sequence for time. Rest 1:30 and repeat for a total of 4 times.

RESULTS:

4:55, 11:46, 19:44, 26:41

I really liked this workout. Even though it took me quite a while, I felt like I got a good workout unlike the other day with the bear complex. It was a good mix of met-con and a little heavy weight tossed in there. And I did it Rx too!

WOD:
Max Rounds in 15 minutes of:

20 Push Ups
15 SDHP’s @ 95#’s
2 Prowler Pushes (1 is 1 way)

RESULTS:
4 rounds + 20 push-ups

At first glance this doesn’t look that bad… but it was one hell of a workout. Especially after having done the thrusters yesterday.  I did do Rx for the SDHP in spite of this. For me the push-ups where pretty rough, my arms and shoulders where just dead. For the prowler pushes, since there where only 5… they were all loaded up differently and they said that we could team up as long as we kept moving. Let me just say… pushing one with 180# on it by yourself is ALOT harder than with two people, I did this for 1 round and it sucked. The rest of the round I had a partner for the push.

It was a good workout as usual, but I think I’m done for the week now ;-) I don’t think my legs could handle another day.

WOD:
Bench Press
5-5-5-5-5

As many rounds as possible in 10 minutes of:

  • 10 Jumping Pull Ups (wrist at the height of the bar)
  • 15 Push Ups
  • 20 Box Jumps 20″

RESULTS:
135-135-145-150-155
5 + 10 pullups & 12 pushups

I was debating on doing the back squats again instead of the bench press, but I must have done something to my back yesterday as during KB swings in the warm up it started bothering me. So I decided, better save than sorry and went with the bench press…. and was outside… Sun’s out Guns out as Jason said ;-)

As for the met-con, I actually liked this one… aside from having to do pushups after the bench press, it went pretty well. With the shorter box I am able to get into a rhythm and go pretty quickly. Same with the pullups. But those pushups…. ugh. It was like 1,2,3,4,5,..6,7,……8,……..9,….. etc……………… But I eventually made it through them.
